Installation

Unpack and inspect contents. Position router in central location.

Connect to modem: Use Ethernet cable from modem to WAN port.
Connect computers: Use Ethernet cables to LAN ports 1-4.
Attach antennas: Screw all three antennas securely.
Connect USB storage: Plug into USB port for SharePort functionality.
Plug into power outlet.

WARNING! Ensure proper ventilation; do not block vents. Use included power adapter only.

First-Time Setup

Power on router; wait for Power LED to stabilize.

Connect computer: Via Ethernet cable or wireless (default SSID: dlink).
Access web interface: Open browser, go to http://dlinkrouter.local or 192.168.0.1.
Run setup wizard: Follow on-screen instructions for internet connection.
Configure wireless: Set SSID, security type (WPA2 recommended), and password.
Save settings: Apply changes and restart router if prompted.

Web Interface Configuration

Access router settings via web browser at 192.168.0.1. Default login: admin (password blank).

SharePort Setup

Share USB storage devices across your network.

Connect USB device: Plug storage device into USB port.

Access shared storage: Via network places or http://dlinkrouter.local:8080
Configure access: Set user permissions in web interface under USB Storage.
Map network drive: Use Windows Explorer to create permanent network drive.

Tip: Format USB drives as FAT32 for best compatibility.

Wireless Configuration

Optimize wireless performance and security.

Access wireless settings: Web interface > Wireless > Basic Settings.
Set SSID: Choose unique network name.
Select band: 2.4GHz for compatibility, 5GHz for less interference.
Configure security: WPA2-Personal with strong passphrase.

Troubleshooting
