Hardware Installation

Unpack and verify contents. Place in central location for optimal coverage.

  1. Connect power adapter: Plug into router and wall outlet.
  2. Connect internet: Use Ethernet cable from modem to WAN port.
  3. Connect devices: Use LAN ports for wired connections.
  4. Position antennas: Adjust antennas vertically for best signal.
  5. Power on: Press power button; wait for LED indicators to stabilize.

WARNING! Keep router in well-ventilated area; avoid heat sources and moisture.

Initial Setup

Access web interface for configuration.

  1. Connect to router: Use Ethernet cable or connect to default wireless network.
  2. Open browser: Navigate to http://dlinkrouter.local or 192.168.0.1
  3. Login: Use default credentials (admin/password).
  4. Run setup wizard: Follow on-screen instructions for internet connection.
  5. Configure wireless: Set SSID and security settings.

CAUTION! Change default password immediately for security.

Wireless Settings

Configure dual-band wireless networks.

  1. Access Wireless settings in web interface.
  2. Set 2.4GHz network: SSID, channel, mode, security (WPA2 recommended).
  3. Set 5GHz network: SSID, channel, mode, security settings.
  4. Enable/disable bands as needed.
  5. Apply settings and reconnect devices.

Tip: Use different SSIDs for 2.4GHz and 5GHz bands for easy identification.

Advanced Features

QoS: Prioritize traffic for gaming/streaming. Parental Controls: Block websites/schedule access. Guest Network: Isolated wireless access. Port Forwarding: For gaming servers and applications. VPN: Support for PPTP/L2TP pass-through.

  1. QoS: Enable in Advanced tab, set device/application priority.
  2. Parental Controls: Configure in Advanced > Parental Controls.
  3. Guest Network: Set up in Wireless > Guest Zone.
  4. Port Forwarding: Configure in Advanced > Port Forwarding.

WARNING! Port forwarding may expose devices to security risks.

USB Sharing

Share storage devices via USB 3.0 port.

  1. Connect USB storage device to router.
  2. Wait for USB LED indicator to light up.
  3. Access shared storage via network (\\192.168.0.1 or smb://dlinkrouter.local).
  4. Configure access permissions in web interface.
  5. Set up media server for DLNA devices.

Maintenance & Updates

Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance.
