Hardware Installation

Unpack and verify all components. Place router in central location.

  1. Connect power: Plug power adapter into router and wall outlet.
  2. Connect internet: Use Ethernet cable from modem to WAN port.
  3. Connect devices: Use Ethernet cables from computers to LAN ports.
  4. Connect USB devices: Attach storage or printer to USB port.
  5. Position antennas: Adjust antennas to vertical position.

WARNING! Use only provided power adapter. Ensure proper ventilation around router.

Initial Setup

Power on router; wait for Power LED to become solid.

  1. Connect to router: Use Ethernet cable or connect to default Wi-Fi (DIR-836L).
  2. Access web interface: Open browser and go to http://dlinkrouter.local or 192.168.0.1
